Individual air conditioning /heating in each room, toiletries provided if you forgot anything, coffee & tea. Great location! Negative: Nothing!

The Whalers Rest is the perfect family vacation spot! My family and I came up around Christmas and enjoyed this beautiful home that was immaculately maintained and newly renovated. The home is spacious and the host Gerard was amazing and has the best suggestions for things to do in the area. The house is in walking distance to Indulge coffee, Noah’s and easy walk down to the water in Stonington with an easy drive to Mystic. The ideal perfect location in the perfect place!

We had a wonderful stay at Whaler’s Rest in Stonington! The beautifully renovated first-floor flat is even more adorable and quaint in person, blending historic charm with modern coastal touches. The sun-filled, open layout made it feel bright, cozy, and inviting. The queen bed was very comfortable, and the bunk beds were perfect for our family. We loved having a fully equipped kitchen and dining area — it truly felt like a home away from home. We did have a minor issue with the door and the hosts were incredibly responsive. They even came out promptly to address it, which we really appreciated. You can tell so much thought went into the little details throughout the space. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for a perfect New England getaway!

Excellent Positive: Great location, close to the village. Accommodations were tastefully decorated & comfortable. So superior to staying in a hotel if traveling with family or friends.

This was a last minute decision to stay in CT, and we're so glad we found this gem! We chose this place because it wasn't too far from the show we were attending. A great spot and a very attentive host! I really appreciated that they didn’t charge a cleaning fee and then ask us to clean the whole place as well. They just asked for us to load the dishwasher before we left. A very positive experience overall.

Thought it was a little pricey but I appreciate the ability to bring my 1 yr old dog with me. Yard was a huge help with him and also the two large grass areas across the street were good for getting out his energy. Overall pleased and would book again

Great spot for small family, couple or someone wanting to explore the area. Plenty of space, newly renovated. We didn’t even use all the amenities included since we were out and about most of the time. Everything we needed was there. Loved the closed off mud room to leave shoes and coats. We are a no shoes inside family. We brought our dog and it was great to know he couldn’t just get out the door loading and loading. Highly recommend and will book again.

Possibly the nicest AirBnb we’ve stayed in. Immaculately clean, well-stocked (and modern) kitchen and airy open layout. You are a walk (or ride) over the bridge to Stonington Borough and it’s charming New England homes, shops and restaurants (go to Dog Watch). Also, close to Mystic and just over the border from the beautiful South County area in RI. The neighborhood is quiet and the owners take obvious pride in their homes. There is another unit upstairs and you will hear minor noise, if occupied, but not enough to cause annoyance. This is one of the more expensive AirBnBs we’ve stayed in (over $300 a day all in) and with bunk beds in the 2nd bedroom you’re unlikely to defray those costs to another couple. It’s a home built for a family. But with excellent communication by the management company and such a lovely setting (including great outdoor space) you’ll really enjoy your stay.

Gerald was GREAT! Gave us great suggestions and was always responding extremely quickly. My only concern was that the backyard was not completely enclosed and had openings where the driveway was which I couldn’t close due to the fact that there were other guests using that driveway. This wasn’t as relaxing for me since I have a 2 year old and 4 year old. It’s a bit costly for what it is but we had an amazing stay!
