What a wonderful find! The location of this house was perfect as everything was literally outside our front door. Multiple places to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the river. The house was impeccably clean on our arrival and the communication with Gerard was beyond excellent. One problem…wish this was mine so I could enjoy it anytime🤣

Gerard's beautiful old house compound right on the Mystic River was beautiful, comfortable, and cozy. The property has all the quirky touches of an old house with all the helpful modern amenities our family needed. Right around the corner from shops and restaurants with gorgeous water views. We felt very well cared for in every way.

What a weekend! We stayed here for a family wedding at the Seaport. My entire family was so jealous of our fabulous place with the water views, adorable patio, and perfect location. The kayaks were a huge hit and we appreciated the little touches like snacks, cloths for makeup removal, etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Communication was also stellar. The property management company has a guide with everything you need to know. So easy. We messaged once with a question about turning on the lights in the bedroom and had an answer within the hour.

We greatly enjoyed the weekend in Mystic, Ct in this 1810 restored Captain’s and School House for an 80th birthday party with 3 generations. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and the lovely outdoor patio overlooking the Mystic River was magical at sunset. The house and location allowed us able to split off and do our own activities (cycling, shopping, walking) without always getting into the cars. We all slept blissfully well and every room was filled with character w/many clever details to catch. The only downside was just more personal, it was for me quite expensive with two nights costing two weeks of my teacher salary -gulp- but everyone was so happy I’ll get over it! We all agreed it was magnificent and it and we would highly recommend Captain’s House in Mystic to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay despite the some poor weather most of the weekend. Mystic has plenty of activities and Gerard, our host was very gracious and responsive. The house is very well appointed and we felt at home from the moment we arrived.

It's was just a perfect location for our yearly visit to Mystic. Felt just like home. Enjoyed sitting outside and watching the views of the Mystic River and the drawbridge. The host was extremely helpful. Will definitely stay her again!!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Mystic. Gerard was in contact prior to my arrival, and offered some really helpful advice about nearby restaurants - overall the contact was efficient: plenty of helpful info but not intrusive or complicated. Gerard even called to make sure I'd arrived ok - he is a delight and very welcoming and accommodating. The house was in a prime location around the corner from shops and bars, and was full of old-house charm while being perfectly neat and comfortable. Notably, the checkout is easy and didn't require much self-housekeeping, which I appreciated. Mystic is also an underrated place, was able to explore on kayaks and went to some fun shops and bars. We had the best "Coastal Grandma's Weekend Getaway" at the Captain's House and Cottage. The location was amazing, views of the water and incredible walkability to get to the cute shops and restaurants. One night we grilled for dinner and there was plenty of seating and large tables for all of us (10) to fit. I would book this home again in a heartbeat! Also there was plenty of parking for groups coming from all different directions - it was a relief not having to worry about that.

Looove!! Booked the Captain’s House and adjoining cottage for my sister’s bachelorette weekend and it was divine. Location and amenities were perfect and view was priceless. Literally walking distance from downtown, restaurants and the drawbridge. The host was amazing and super responsive. Thank you for making my sister’s weekend all the better.

What a wonderful place and wonderful experience. Our host was so friendly and accommodating. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. This place is a GEM. There are several places to sit outside and watch the water and we did just that along with kayaking and wandering the village. I told many family members about this because not many AirBnBs are this perfect.

I'll try to keep it simple! It was a perfect place to gather our family for the Memorial Day weekend. The house is set in such a perfect spot~ views of the Mystic river as well as the drawbridge and the Mystic Seaport Museum. Town is only a few minute stroll, close to great restaurants and shops. We even walked to The Mystic Seaport Museum. The yard is big with several outdoor seating areas. And the house itself! Built in the early 1800's ~ you can feel the history! Beautifully decorated, pristine, and well equipped. We cooked, we played and would highly recommend a stay at the Captain's house!

Great Gull exceeded our expectations! Absolute perfect location to enjoy all downtown Mystic has to offer! The home maintains its unique history and character at the same time providing all the modern amenities you need and want! Morning coffee on the front lawn under the shade tree while watching the boats go by on the river was the perfect way to start the day. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We had a lovely stay, both the main house and the school house were beautiful and well designed/decorated. Everything was super clean and things were very well thought out, like space heaters in case anyone got cold, plenty of super soft blankets and pillows, welcome baskets with emergency toiletries, just really nice touches and things I wouldn't have necessarily expected. The host Gerard was very helpful and friendly throughout, super responsive and just made the whole process easy, even reminding us on the last day not to forget anything. It was actually my first Airbnb experience, so in truth it's probably spoiled me for future ones with how easy and pleasant Gerard made everything. And the location was literally just minutes from the main street with shops and restaurants. We had a great time, thank you!

It was an incredible stay, the house and the town of Mystic was very rich with Maritime History. Everyone one was very impressed with all the shops and restaurants just in walking distance.

A great stay in Mystic the location could not be beat. Loved being able to walk right into the action but still be on a quiet side street with a view of the river. Also was nice to have kayaks to go out on the river with!

A perfect weekend for 4 women writers to convene, work hard on their craft, drink great wine, dine in and out in complete comfort and really enjoy one another’s company. Parking was easy, house was so comfy .. we are 4 relaxed women who feel very lucky. Thank you! ( also walked everywhere)

We had a fantastic stay at Great Gull's. The location was amazing. We walked to dinner, had enough room for family and friends. I love they kept the character of the house with furnishings and decor. Every morning we had breakfast on the patio looking at the Mystic River. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans and everything you need like being at home. I truly recommend Great Gull's.

We had a fabulous 3 day vacation at this property. The accommodations were beautiful, very comfortable and the location couldn’t have been any better. Right on the water and only a block from shops, restaurants and we enjoyed watching the Mystic Bridge raising and lowering to let boats through. So many lovely outdoor sitting areas. But best of all was the attention to every detail by our wonderful host Gerard and his genuine concern that we have the best vacation possible. Highest praises for it all!! Can’t wait to come back. My friends and I have stayed here once before and chose it again. It was perfect for our mini- writing retreat. We cooked in one night and everything we needed was provided. The place is comfy and convenient.

This place was absolutely perfect and everything we could have asked for! Both the main house and guest house were clean, beautiful, and just as pictured. The kitchen, bathroom and living spaces included everything we needed - coffee, TVs, towels, even make up removal wipes and designated towels, just to name a few. There was ample parking for our group which was a great plus! The location was also perfect - right across from the water with a nice path for a walk and just a couple minute walk to the Main Street and drawbridge. We loved it and definitely recommend for anyone’s stay in Mystic! Thank you!!
